Chapter Two: Sunday Morning Delusion

And the Evil at Work in the Church Today

From Adam, the first man, until this day, it is estimated that more than 117 billion people have lived on this earth[1]. Imagine the billions of people who have come and gone- families, friends, and relationships. The magnificent wonder of life and death played out before God. Only one generation has the unique privilege of being alive during the Tribulation. Is it a privilege?

For those who miss the Rapture, the Great Tribulation will be their last chance. It could be our generation. Whether this generation or a generation to follow, the time will eventually come. Christians eagerly wait for their Lord Christ to summon them skyward and homeward. We wait for the Lord Himself to come with a shout and the voice of an Archangel.

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” 55 “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”

1 Corinthians 15:50-55, NKJV

Faithful Christians will not endure the Tribulation that is to come. We will not wake up from our early death with bodies that will again succumb to sickness or aging, but instead awake to everlasting life. We will awake in bodies incorruptible, suited to dwell in the presence of our mighty God. We will put on incorruption and leave behind our mortal bodies where we will accept new bodies that will live forever with God. This is an amazing and beautiful message from God delivered through Paul. We should look forward to that Day, a day when our bodies will be made new.
