Sample Text Concerning Chapter One
Are all Christians filled with God’s Holy Spirit?
Many Christians have not yet received the Baptism of Holy Spirit after believing the message of Christ. My statement begs the question, is it possible to be a Christian and not be filled with Holy Spirit? Dr. Luke’s record of Philip, Peter, and John offers this answer.
Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. 5 Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah there. 6 When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said. 7 For with shrieks, impure spirits came out of many, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. 8 So there was great joy in that city.
Acts 8:4, NIV
Many in the City of Samaria heard the message of Philip. They received the Gospel message of Christ but had not yet been filled with Holy Spirit of God. Indeed, they were called by Holy Spirit and accepted Christ as their savior. They were sanctified. In this event, the believers were not immediately filled with Holy Spirit, as I suspect many believers today are not yet filled with Holy Spirit. Many Sunday morning Christians do not focus on Holy Spirit. It is long past time for many members within the local church to embrace Holy Spirit and move to a life directed by Him.

When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria. 15 When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit, 16 because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
Acts 8:14-17, NIV
