Chapter Two: Sunday Morning Delusion

And the Evil at Work in the Church Today

As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly.

Proverbs 26:11, NIV

Biblical Christians embody the culture of holiness and the message of Christ. Sunday morning pastors should apply biblical scriptures to their own lives and guide their congregation to do the same. Instead, Sunday morning pastors are transformed by the world and regurgitate much of their secular influences; they are immersed in the spirit of lawlessness. Sunday morning Christians further build on this regurgitated pagan culture, developing the Christian church into a hollow shell of its former character.

And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Matthew 24:12-13, NKJV

Christ gave His followers the teachings of the Kingdom of God. His teachings inform Christian culture by demonstrating the behaviors Christians should follow. Next, the apostles and disciples continued those teachings as they spread the message of Christianity and recorded the New Testament scriptures. Christian culture is derived from prayer, fasting, and biblical study, bringing Christians closer to Christ. Christian pastors should build and disseminate Christian culture in the Church just as the early Church leaders did.

because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

1 Peter 1:16, NKJV
